6:55 – Folkestone – KMFM RADIO MADE IN KENT SELLING STAKES (CLASS 6) (3yo+) Good To Firm 6f
Kingswinford looks to have been found a very good opportunity to record the 10th win of his career this evening. The 6 year old bay gelding won a Class 5 Handicap two starts back before competing in a Class 3 handicap at Ascot on his last start. As all of his wins have come in Classes 4 to 6 the fact he finished down the field is not surprising.
He should find the competition easier this evening in Class 6 Selling company. Kingswinford will be making his 55th start of the turf and he has won 9 times to date and has been placed 2nd and 3rd a further 17 times, making him a fairly reliable performer. He has not been over raced this season and in 5 runs he has won twice with his first win coming on his seasonal reappearance at Folkstone over today’s trip.
The going at Folkestone is Good to Firm and in 16 runs in the going he has won three times and been placed on four other occasions. He has run 21 times over 6 furlongs winning four times and finishing placed on a further nine occasions. Folkstone has some fairly strange humps and bumps and previous experience of the course can be advantageous. Kingswinford has run here three times and has won once.
He is ridden by apprentice jockey Matthew Cosham this evening. Matthew has ridden Kingswinford three times to date and has won once and finished 2nd once.
Kingswinford is 8lbs clear on Official Ratings and with a handicap mark of 82. In a handicap race he would be giving the rest of the field anything from 8lbs to 41lbs, but there are only 11lbs separating the whole field. He also benefits from the 3lbs that his apprentice jockey takes off. He won off 79 two starts back and if he runs to that form this evening he should have to much for the rest of the field.
