Jockey booking points towards Future Wonder

3:30 – Yarmouth -  GOLDEN MILE GREAT YARMOUTH SELLING STAKES (CLASS 6) (3yo) Good 1m3y

Paul Hanagan rides Future Wonder in the 3 year old Class 6 Selling race at Yarmouth this afternoon.  Future Wonder looks to have the best form chance in the race anyway but the addition of the current champion jockey increases confidence in her chances.  The 3 year old bay filly is only having her 4th career start today and she won her last race, which was also a Selling race in decent style.

Future Wonder only ran once last season when she finished 6th in a Maiden race on the all weather surface at Kempton.  She made her seasonal reappearance at Catterick in July finishing 4th in Soft ground 5 ¼ lengths behind the winner.  She dwelt in the rear but did make some progress from 2 furlongs out and encouragingly kept on to the line.  Her last run was at Leicester 15 days ago when she ran in a Class 6 Selling race.  Connections employed a chance of tactics as Future Wonder was ridden prominently throughout the race.  The tactics worked as she chased the leader 2 furlongs out, before going to the front inside the final furlong and despite hanging right she stayed on well to win by 3 ½ lengths.

She runs over 1 mile again today and her only run over a similar trip was her win at Leicester last time which was over 1 mile and ½ a furlong.  Therefore the trip will not be a problem for her.  She will also have no trouble with the going today which is described as Good.  She encountered good ground at Leicester last time and obviously handled it well.

Future Wonder runs off the highest weight she has carried this afternoon as under the conditions of the race she carries a 5lb penalty for her Leicester win.  However given her winning distance at Leicester she does look up to carrying the extra weight.

Future Wonder brings the best recent form into the race and is in fact the only horse in the field to have won a race at all.  As mentioned above she does have the best form chance and the presence of Paul Hanagan significantly increases her chances.  The champion jockey should ride her prominently, as in her last race and he will definitely make her mind up for her when the time is right to strike for home.  Hanagan is a very strong jockey when riding a finish and this combined with the form Future Wonder showed in her last race should be enough to get her home in front today.
