Kingswinford has solid look in Selling & Claiming Company

3:10 – Brighton – JIMMY HEAL MEMORIAL SELLING STAKES (CLASS 6) (3yo+) Good 5f213y

Kingswinford has made 55 starts on the flat turf since his racecourse debut as a 2 year old in 2008.  The 6 year old bay gelding has won nine times and has a very solid record in Claiming and Selling races.  In 12 starts he has won 4 times and been placed on 5 other occasions and looks well placed to register win number five at the basement level today.

Kingswinford made his seasonal reappearance in April and has shown some decent form as he has won twice and been placed once from six starts.  He won a Class 4 Handicap at Folkestone in April and has also won at Salisbury three starts back in a Class 5 Claiming race and his last run at Folkestone saw him finish 3rd in a Selling race.

He runs over 6 furlongs this afternoon and he has won four times and been placed nine times from 24 runs over the trip.  The going should also be fine for Kingswinford who has won twice and been placed five times from 18 runs in Good ground.

Kingswinford has run at Brighton once before when he finished 4th in a 7 furlong race last April, but a quick look at the video of the race shows that he took well enough to the course which is yet another strangely cambered British venue so can be expected to act on the course again today.

He will not have things all his own way this afternoon, especially with the presence of Effistorm in the race, who beat Kingswinford at Folkestone last time when he finished second. However, Effistorm has never run at Brighton before and he ran a poor race the finish 6th at Wolverhampton on Monday when he could only stay on at the same pace inside the final furlong.  Kingswinford on the other hand has had a break of 15 days since his last run and with his yard being in decent form can just about win today.
